CAPTIONS ARE SLOW 5 second to reflect text updates YET ANOTHER BUG REPORT BECAUSE IT STILL HAPPENS!

Ultra fustrating trying to finish a video on premiere but captions yet again are running like S**t.

Its been on and off since it was introduced, none of the other work arounds work.

Please fix it. A desperate plea to the developers, Im literally going to cancel my plan, and ask for a refund and move to another platform.

M1 Max Macbook pro 16 32GB ram, Prem version 23.3

Reinstalled premiere, reset perferences, cleared caches, toggled every switch available to see what stick and no it still takes 5-10 seconds to update text on the screen.

Richard,

Very frustrating. Performance improved for some users, but still reports of slow caption performance.

I'm on Win10, so the new tests I have planned won't be apples to apples, pardon the unwitting pun.

But I'd like to be sure I have a good chance of replicating the problem. I have only been able to replicate the slow performance in one version. Some of the variables that are worth testing are number of captions in a sequence, number of sequences with captions and whether open or not, and complexity of the timeline apart from captions.

Workarounds to test (if I can replicate) are zooming in to the timeline, closing the text panel and working in Program Monitor, working only in Text Panel, closing other sequences with captions, disabling the caption track and working in the Text panel.

How many captions for you in the typical sequence? I assume you've tried the workarounds.

Stan

Yeah extermly fustrating turns a 1 hour job into a 3-4 hour job.

Its usually aroun 220 lines, 10 mins worth.

Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesnt, thats whats fustrating its so un predictable, and with all the workarounds its something deep rooted in adobes code that needs looking at in a much deeper way than is currently.

I used to find switching or resetting workspaces worked, but that fix doesnt fix anymore,

Ive tried everything thats listed on various fix threads on adobe community.

Thank you for reporting this issue.

Could you describe how these captions are created? Are these auto generated captions from a transcript ? or imported from an external SRT ? or embedded captions from an MXF file?

Does it make a difference if you edit the text in the windows->text-panel or in the program monitor?

Would it be possible for you to provide us with a sample project file which shows this slow performance for you, so we can reproduce it as closely to your configuration as possible?

Best regards,

 Alexander
