CC608 embedded apostrophes as ■ (dingbats)

Explorer ,
May 29, 2025 May 29, 2025

An exported MXF file with embedded SRT as CC-608 displays some apostrophes as squares. In the meantime the original SRT file in Premiere before export contains proper text (no dingbat squares anywhere). Has anyone had this or similar experience? End result screenshots attached below. Thanks in advance.

@SylNYC,

Turn off smart quotes. Edit -> Preferences -> Graphics.

See my post:

I haven't tested recently, but as @paBlw says, the setting was moved from Essential Graphics several versions ago.
