Change marker colors in "marker editor" window

Is it possible to change the available colors of markers within the "marker editor" window? There are lots of threads about changing the marker color to a different one, but I want to change the available palette (swapping the pink-ish one out for something different, for example). In "Preferences|Labels", there are a number of available colors, but they only seem to exist to set the color defaults for various media types.

Is this configurable somewhere? While mousing over the marker colors, it even pops up the hex code for the color, which suggests to me that there is a place to change them.

There is no way to adjust the colors in the marker panel.

However, you could make out a feature request (continue in this thread).
