Changing text fill, stroke etc. Individually?

I recently switch from my laptop to a new desktop. I used the same up to date version of Premiere.

But since I have switched I can no longer edit indivual words/ letters by highlighting them. Idk if I have a setting wrong or something has been changed.

However now anytime I try to change a the fill or stroke or anything regardless if it's highlighted, it will change all words.

Am I missing something? This is how I did a lot individual text animation and coloring before.

Any help is appreciated..

I've noticed this happens but only with *some* of the graphics that I create.
I'm still able to change values on just highlighted text if I go into the Essential Graphics tab and adjust there. That's been working for me as a workaround (and hopefully helps you!), but fingers crossed another community member has a better answer.

Appreciate the response! I may just have to incorporate essential graphics for now. Text window was just always easier/ quicker lol
