Clip audio sounds corrupt in new update

New Here ,
Jun 20, 2025 Jun 20, 2025

Hello, documentary editor here. I recently updated Premiere to the latest version (25.3, I believe) and some of the clips in my timeline now have corrupt-sounding audio: Blaring distortion and static to be specific. The raw clip is fine; this only happens when I import it into Premiere. I tried clearing cache files and other saves, but that didn't help.

Out of curriosity, I rolled back to an earlier version (25.2) and now everything is back to normal. So I fiure it must be an issue with the latest update and certain audio codecs. Anyone else having this issue?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hi Nicholas23039549qwbc,

We're sorry to hear about this. We're investigating a similar issue. Could you please confirm if you are working with MTS or M2T media type in your projects?

Thanks,

Sumeet

Hi Nicholas,

I read about your issue. It sounds like a bug. You might want to move back a version until the bug can be fixed. Sorry for the frustration. Let me know if you need other ideas to work around this issue.

Thanks,
Kevin

Ya, rolling back a version seems to be the only fix for now. Hope this gets fixed.
