I don't know what you'd call this but I'd like to have a subject show up in two spots in the same room. I've recorded the two parts but I have no idea how to seamlessly edit them together without a line in the middle. Help please.

Was the camera locked down during the filming - in other words did you record the person in position 1 and then record the person in position 2 without moving or adjusting the camera in any way?

Yes, of course.

Then you place the clip with the person in position 1 on V1 of the timeline, and the clip with the person on position 2 directly above the clip on V1 on V2. You then apply the Crop Effect to the clip on V2 and use the crop controls to reveal the person on V1.

I'm working on another similar project, doing things the same way, however the two shots are not lining up perfectly. I'm not exactly sure why, but I'm wondering if there is a way to reposition one side so that it's in place. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Hi davidh24839446,
Welcome to the community! If the camera was not locked down on a tripod, you might need to manually readjust the position, scale, and rotation properties for the clips to match the frame before masking and merging elements from the shots. You can select the clip & access these properties under Effect Controls > Video > Motion. Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Sumeet
