Constant crashes v 24.4.1 (build 2)

Since update program crashes constantly. Seems like it could be a bug related to memory leak.

Few of my single project sizes can go up 50 and more gigabytes (editting in Full HD with additional 2k drone footages [with proxies]).

Steps:

1. editing (crashes);

2. group a multiple clips to aply cross disolve to all clips (crrashes);

3. group multiple clips to apply audio gain to normalize all peaks (crashes);

4. switching workspaces to graphics, colors, etc. (crashes).

5. exporting (crashes).

System information:

Windows 10 (10.0.19045)

CPU: i7-8700 3.20 GHz

RAM: 16 GB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080

Hi Oskars -  Thank you for the video and sorry you are having this issue.  Are you using an external monitor, or any external hardware?  Do you have any plugins you are using?

Hey, Jamie!

Yes, indeed, I do actually use a secondary monitor for preview. No external devices though. Well except the external DVD drive.

Ah, yes, I thought I've forgot to mention something. Sorry about that.
The only plugin I'm using sometimes is "Mr. Horse Premiere composer" and standalone "SoundQ" to import sound effects.

Hope this information helps.

I see you have Blackmagic desktop installed, thats why I was asking about external hardware.  If you don't need that for anything can you try uninstalling.   Can you try holding down the shift key and open Premiere.  There are some options to reset plugin cache and disable plugins.  Let us know how that goes.  Thank you for your patience and troubleshooting.

Oh, yeah, my bad again. Sorry.
I believe there is installed BlackMagic's capture card on my PC because my colleague twice a month captures a secondary copy of live recording from studio.

Tried to reset plugins an plugins cache by holding shift key and opening premiere.
Also cleaned all my media cache, media cache files and peak files manually.
Didn't help. Tried to open a bigger project of show to re-export but Premiere keeps crashing.

Hi Oskars - Thank you for troubleshooting.  Are you able to send me one of the project files?   Checking if you tried to disable plugins as well?

No problem. I believe I tried to reset plugins.

Here you go - https://files.fm/u/4yhhaec53j
There are two project files of the same project. One is renamed in case your system doesn't recognize my unicode characters.
These are just project files. If you need a project with media files - let me know.

Well, whenever today I tried to edit in v24.4.1 it kept crashing, so today I mostly edited in v23.6.5.

Just rolled back to v23.4.0 and the biggest project files kept crashing even with roll back. Most interesting part is that v23.4.0 kept the new label color schemes of v24.4.1.

Opened smaller old project of v24.4.0 (with new label color schemes) and it didn't crash. Maybe it was just a luck and I had to give it more time.

Anyways here is the video.

Oh, I also noticed that premiere had frame substitution recursion attempt aborting with .MXF files. Maybe it has something to do with it. Here is project file with project of v23.6.5 and few .mxf files. https://files.fm/u/auer8p99pg

It's almost 23PM over here so I'm calling it a night. I'm going to get back on this on monday probably.

Thanks for your effort and have a great weekend, Jamie!

Thank you again for your files and troubleshooting.  When you get a chance can you try creating a fresh project in 24.4.1 and drag everything to that project then save > restart and see if that does anything.  I'm wondering if there is something in the project file going from 24.3 > 24.4.1. Thank you again!

Hey, Jamie!

I did everything as you told me - installed v24.4.1, made a clean project with .MXF files, restarted etc..
Premiere v24.4.1 keeps crashing.

Today I worked only with v24.4.0 and with MXF files. Didn't have a single problem.

It's likely that there is some kind of problem with MXF files. Premiere just crashes when you edit them.

Here is a clean projext file. https://files.fm/u/n56psfd9sp

Looks like @jan_bel_77 have the same problem and he also edits MXF files.

I see mister horse has a bug in one of their plugin versions that causes premiere to freeze.  Can you check to make sure you have the latest update.

Hey @Oskars Adamovics - Can you DM me or email me the id you use for Creative Cloud.  We couldn't find the crash logs related to your issue.  Is there a .dmp file in the same place that you looked before?

Hey, Jamie!

Sorry for slow response. Had a lot of work to do.

Tried to DM you but adobes page had error saying I've reached private message limit and I have HTML in my message. Anyways.

I'm not quiet sure about admin rights, cause I'm just a user under a company's admin.
My verified ID e-mail should be the same as my username but with @gmail.com at the end.
My license or user rights are under "Kurzemes televizija, SIA".

Here, I uploaded my SentryIO-db folder (v24 and v23) again. https://files.fm/u/zsz82eed3t

No. I don't see a .dmp file in my SentryIO-db folder.

Hello, Jamie!
Sorry for slow response. Had a nationwide holidays over here.

Great work with update.

I had few minor crashes here and there in last 2 days but nothing like before. Seems like you have fixed it guys. Thank you.

Just one thing. I don't know if that's related but after editing a 25 minutes long show (without any crashes) I was not able to export it. It got stuck on around 3% and export time kept getting longer - from 1 hour up to 5 hours and probably even more. Tried to restart Premiere Pro and PC few times - nada. The same. Don't have problem exporting shorter episodes though.

Rolled back to 24.3 and exported 25 minutes piece without any problem.

Anyways, I would say you've solved crashing problem. Thanks a lot, guys!
