Which Adobe software can convert shockwave (swf) files to other video formats like mp4, etc.? Thanks. I am not sure if Premiere Pro is the correct software. Thanks.

you might want to look into FLASH, which was no longer supported by adobe a long time ago

Thanks for your feedback. I figured that swf files were supported by Adobe a long time ago, the Adobe software would be able to import this format. I just cannot figure out which software package can do this, or if any of them can.

maybe there's another forum that can help you … but I kinda doubt it...

adobe has a habit of having programs and then dropping them and leaving everyone in the lurch... so it's nothin new.

Unless you have CS6 boxed version and that sort of thing... you're kinda a dead duck

sorry

plus, you wouldn't be able to 'convert' to other formats anyway.. it's either flash or it's not flash... I don't know of any conversion thing...

oh, yeah.. you can 'capture' stuff via some full screen utility that lets you pirate whatever you see on internet or play with in games, and then use that to make your own new video or whatever... but you can't open original files and make adjustments and export as SWF and so on... at least I don't think so.

whatever,

I'm not sure who Rodney is talking to or what he is saying, "none is the answer"?

Just do the google search as Ann said:

https://www.google.com/search?q=swf+to+mp4

Thanks everyone for your feedback.

Regarding the free software, online software, apps, etc., that convert swf to other video formats, I have tried about 8 different ones. They all fall into one of these categories: (1) does not convert the file and the result is a black screen (even though the software states the conversion completed successfully), (2) only the sound is preserved but not the video, or (3) the conversion succeeds but the original image, which was very smooth, became a slower, much more choppy video. The "smoothness" has been compromised.

So far, this software is the only one that seems to work with decent results (although the converted file is still a little choppy):

If you want to play swf files (not convert), this software works really well:

SWF File Player

I believe the best solution was suggested by Rodney. I am going to try to run the swf file and use a screen recorder to record the image & sound and save that as an mp4. That might be the best solution.

If anyone else has ideas I am open to suggestions. Many thanks!
