Hey everyone, I recently updated the latest version of premiere (April 2022, trial period) on Monterey from CS5 on High Sierra. Everytime I try to open an old project, Premiere crashes before it fully loads.

Does anyone know what the cause might be?

Thank you!

Guessing CS5 might be a bit too old for CC.

Try importing instead of opening.

Thank you, I tried that but had the same result.

THIS IS HOW I SILVED THE ISSUE:

Support informed me that older CS5 files may not be supported by PP22 any longer. (WTF!). I installed an older version, PPv.15, and that could open the files and updated them. Those updated files can now be opened by PPv.22 too.
