Hi, sorry! I need help to solve this problem. Why was the post accepted/approved by Adobe moderators then later rejected?
Thanks.
---------------------------------
Have recently updated to the newest 2017 release of Premiere. I keep getting serious error crashes while creating/editing subtitles in the built-in text generator. We have a Kona LHi card in an external Sonnet enclosure. MacPro 2013, El Capitan. Updated the Kona software as well to see if the older version was causing serious error crashes. No luck. Can someone help?

My friend has the same issue on OS X 10.11
Premiere Pro crashes when he selects text in title editor and press cmd+C to copy into clipboard. This problem began to occur directly after yesterday update.

Thanks for posting. So has your friend found a work-around? Until this recent update, serious error crashes in Premiere have been very few.
I always delete prefs (shift + option) while opening Premiere when this happens, but that doesn't help in this case. Our last major issue with serious error crashes we found even our mobile laptop was doing the same thing.
If this keeps happening today I'll uninstall the Kona software (all updated for latest CC2017) and drivers just in case to see if that helps. I'll post back, but curious if others are having the issue and what work-arounds they have implemented.

Here's a post I must have missed seeing yesterday from another thread by Adobe staff.
Note: for my situation it seems mostly the titler, but I have had the same error message importing flattened psd files (RGB) on two occasions.
Hi WaelK,
I believe this is a known issue with the Tilter and the current version. We do know about the issue and are working on a fix. For now, you may want to revert to the previous version.

Kevin

UPDATE, for now I have restored back to the last CC2015 update for all cloud apps. Nothing else was working for me.
I have not encounter another serious error crash officially in one full days editing, but did get one semi-freeze at the end of the day. Our external monitor and computer monitor were not updating, though audio was playing fine. I've had this issue before, but it's infrequent. Can live with that, sadly, compared to the frequent serious error crashing on Premiere CC2017.

One extra nugget of info. These crashes in CC2017 PP are not just on our main editing system with AJA, eSATA and other external cards and devices. I did a test with our traveling MacBook Pro (2015) and the same project just crashes without doing much of anything, not even opening the titler.
Hopefully the next update will be more stable. You are so right, very stressful with deadlines. But at least my boss has the whole scoop and is compassionate.

This friend reinstalled PP CC 2015.3 and works in this version until the fix comes.

Same issue here.
Every time I create a new Title or go to edit an existing, Premiere crashes due to a fatal error. Doesn't help when you have deadlines!!
Does anyone know when a fix is due?

Hi Gareth,
This sounds like a different issue than the one we're aware of. Feel free to create your own post with specifics about your system.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Glitchdog.
Copying or cutting text within the Titler causes a crash. Known issue on Mac and 11.0.1. The workaround is to Option + drag text to copy it within the Titler instead. If this is not your issue, let us know.
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin. In this case I was typing text, subtitles, directly in the titler. They are only one line subs. So no copy/pasting this time. I was right clicking on each previous subtitle and selecting duplicate. No crashing doing that. It was more double clicking the subs in the time line (or bin) to edit them, or messing with the subs in the timeline that caused my challenges.
Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. It does make one feel better when others respond after I've been sitting in the darkness of an editing room for days pulling out what little hair I have left

Hey Glitchdog,
We have an update coming out soon. I think we'll see a fix then. Sit tight.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Is there a fix for this issue yet?
I'm trying to copy in the titler and it crashes EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's making me want to throw my computer out a window.
And I defeinitely don't want to have to use the work around every time.
Thanks

As an update to this crashing problem, when I fell back to CC2015 (PP 2015.4), for whatever reason, Premiere Pro has been more stable than ever. Still editing today (April 2017) in CC2015. Prelude has issues, but Premiere Pro is working so well I'm almost paranoid to attempt an update. Even the audio is playing perfectly every time I hit the spacebar to play the timeline.
I'm curious if anyone else has thoughts/experiences. I really do want to update when I finish the current project.
Still on OSX El Capitan (10.11.6), Mac Pro (late 2013).
