Creating proxies with merged clips

Hi all,

I'm using the latest premiere pro software and I am unable to create proxies for my merged footage. I have created my entire sequence on a different computer that was able to handle online editing in 4K but now I'm in a bind as I need to work off of my home imac. Is there a way to create proxies with this merged footage? I can't seem to hack it.

Would love any and all feedback!

Thanks,

Michael

I don't think the built-in proxy process works with merged clips ... unfortunately.

I can't find this answered anywhere but; I have built proxies for all my UHD 4k clips of a given project (tested), merged all clips to secondary audio (tested - all raws function), but notice only 'SOME' merged clips toggle from raw to proxy...
I burn-in an emblem to confirm the use of proxies just for problems like this.

Is there any update to this issue?

I agree.  I'm in the same boat - I've created proxies with un-merged footage (the 5K video files), which toggles back and forth perfectly. But I synched and merged with the 5K footage and the toggle proxies function won't work on these merged files.  Making me crazy - the whole point of making proxies is thrown out the window.  Seems like a completely bizarre oversight from Premiere.

Go to the Uservoice system and you can easily find some requests for expanding proxy functions. Up-vote them.

Those go directly to the engineers system and in collated form to the upper managers who decide budgets.
