cross-talk auto-ducking

Hi folks,

folgende Situation: Podcast setup mit zwei Protagnisten an einem Tisch sitzen gegenüber von einander. Beide mit Podcastmikro. Wenn der eine spricht und der andere nciht, ist cross talk, also die Stimme des Sprechenden auf der Audiospur des anderen Mikros. Frage: Wie kann ich die Audiospur automatisch ducken/muten, (cut off wäre in dieser speziellen Situation bei ca. -17db) damit der Hall, bzw die Doppelung rausgeht.

Bitte keine Kommentare zum Setup, darum geht es nciht, sondern nur um die Postproduktion/editing. Hab es mit essential sound probiert und dem einen Audio-clip das label Music verpasst, um die Auto-ducking Funktion zu enablen... Das funktioniert aber nicht, egal mit welcher Sensitivity, zumindest nciht so, dass man nciht selbst noch viel nachbearbeiten muss. Kann ich einfach einen pass-filter drauf legen, der nur greift wenn eine gewisse lautstärke unterschritten wird? Wenn ja welchen? Bei einem 2 Stunden Podcast ist das viel Nachbearbeitung, ich freue mich über eure Lösungsvorschläge.

You will want to use something called a Gate (also called a noise gate).  Premiere has two of them, but the easier one to use is the Dynamics effects.  Turn on the "AutoGate" section of the effect and set the threshold.  

One trick is to set the threshold while playing audio so you can actually hear what the processing is doing.

Thank you for the input. It does work to certain extend, but it still cuts either off parts that shouldn't and on the other hand, if i put the threshold too low there is still cross-talk. So it's not very much suitable for me and the quality of audio i am looking for...
