Dalet Xtend Plugin, import issue

Hello, I work with Dalet. We developed a plugin to connect our MAM software to Premiere.

This plugin can work in 2 modes, HD and Proxy.

When we are working in HD, and we import the media to Premiere project, the HD media is imported correctly. When we try to import it again, Premiere understands the media is already imported and it doesn't import it again. All good.

When we switch to Proxy mode, both medias are imported again to project.

After talking with our dev, he said to open a case with Adobe so we can have more details about why Premiere doesn't only import the missing file instead of importing everything again.

We can reproduce this scenario easily, attached is a video recording.

Thanks in advance,

I was able to reproduce the scenario without Xtend plugin.

Have in mind that if we skip attaching proxy to hi res media, the xml import won't generate a duplicated hi res media.

The bug is reproduced only if proxy is attached.

By the way, we made a workaround back then to avoid this duplicated item. Our workaround was working back in Premiere 2020. I didn't try other versions, just 2020 and 2023. On 2023 our workaround got broken.
