PPro 23.6.0
Intel i9-12900K, 64GB RAM, Multiple NVMe M2.SSD
I'm working with fairly long content of theatrical performances, final output can be up to 2hrs in length.
Multiple camera angles, up to six with some additional non-sync cutaways from another performance for reaction shots.
First sequence contains the synchronized video & second system audio (via LTC).
Second sequence is the Multi-Camera timeline which is where the majority of editing is performed. No performance issues.
Third Sequence contains the Multi-Camera sequence and has graphics (intro, credits) and removal of blackouts (scene changes). This sequence is used for DVD creation. Timeline performance is ok, but starting to show some lag
Fourth Sequence contains the Third sequence and adds some additional copyright information for special use/distribution. This timeline is basically unusable, can take 30 seconds to start/stop and switching to this timeline from another can take many minutes (30+ on occasion) before I give up and have to kill PPro.
I've tried rendering audio in the 4th sequence and creating proxies for everything. Nothing helps.
Video is mostly 1080p with one camera at 4k, all 23.976fps. Light color grading on the 4k camera.
Computer is well equipped; i9-12900k with 64GB RAM and multiple NVME SSD drives. Quick Sync GPU is enabled, along with my NVidia GPU. Note that the CPU & GPU load is low (GPUs almost 0) when the cursor is spinning, waiting for some sign of life on the timeline.
Work-around seems to be to export the 3rd timeline, import into the project, and then make my minor tweaks to that timeline. Kinda sucks as it chews up some extra time & disk space. Seems like a bug in PPro, hopefully someone can look into this and address.
Have something to add?
