Double captions in my video?

I am getting sporadic double captions in different parts of my video and it is enormously frustrating:

When I delete the caption section, the double is removed and the remaining caption stays in the video even though no caption is shown in the file section. It only happens in certain sections of the video. I'm running windows. Any help is appreciated.
