Dragging clip instantly zooms in/out timeline and takes clip to seemingly random place in timeline

Every time I try to drag a clip my timeline zooms in/out and the clip is taken to a random place in the timeline. I'm using the updated 2025 Premiere Pro on a 2020 M1 Macbook Pro w/sequioa. Many of the other suggestions that I have read pertaining to similar issues suggest it is an issue with external monitors but this is happening to me without an external monitor. I've tried changing the scroll settings in timeline preferences but still to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @VivaCabral -   Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.
Please see, How do I write a bug report?

What type of mouse are you using?

Can you try and hold down "SHIFT" while launching Premiere and check the boxes
"Reset app preferences" (Backup Preferences first)

Sorry for the frustration.

We are having this exact same issue and making editing nearly impossible. Please help.
And... maybe... just maybe... stop trying to make the application "better". Leave it alone. We're good. Stop. Thanks, Adobe, for the software we depend on for our income. But, really. stop.
