Linking AE comps in Premiere:
Exports sometimes unlinks the footage and it renders missing footage, strangely not any faster than if it was linked.
The sound sometimes doesn't render.
Premiere will sometimes not update unless I relink the AE comp.
Basically, all the old bugs are popping back up in this new version. It feels like CS6 again
Using Media encoder is like rolling dice now.
Exporting from premiere is more stable but you can't stack renders.

Sorry you're having troubles; if you can provide steps we can follow that reliably reproduce any of those issues, we'd be happy to pursue them further. Private upload space available, upon request.

I'll build out a new project this weekend, I can't unload my clients videos to you.
Basically, my steps are video and motion from after effects, some with sound.
I import the comps into Pre and then pre breaks, not all of the time but I'm going to say 40% of the time. Maybe these are long comps, about 4min, I don't know if that has anything to do with it, it's not even 4k it's standard HD.

This is something that seems very dependent on local things ... over the last decade I've seen this come and go across the user base. Someone wasn't having troubles, then is, then some time later, isn't.
And how many of us are having issues doesn't seem to change much, except naturally, it goes up with projects migrated to new major versions.
I've had this come and go without apparent causal determination myself. So as a totally practical matter in my own work, I don't run Ae comps in Premiere any longer than I have to. If I think the comp is "done", I immediately export a DI clip from Ae, and replace the comp in Premiere with the clip of video.
Simple sanity saver.
Of course, someone working on a team in bigger shop doesn't always have that option.
