Used to be able to load a clip into the source monitor, set In and out points, and drag it to the program monitor where an interface appeared showing all of the various edit type possibities (insert, overwrite, etc). Dropping the clip created the edit to the timeline.

  1. This functionality is still present, but only available when dragging a clip from the project window, not the source monitor.
  2. Used to be able to load clip into source monitor, set in and out and drag to program window and choose the desired edit type from the options that popped up in the program monitor.
  3. Why is it now only dragging from the project window?
  4. Is there a way to change this to drag and drop fro.the source window?

It sounds like you’re dealing with some changes in how your video editing software handles dragging clips between the source monitor and the program monitor. This can indeed be frustrating when you’re used to a specific workflow.

Regarding your question, it seems that the ability to drag clips from the source monitor to the program monitor with edit type options might have been altered in recent updates. Often, software updates can shift or remove functionalities, which can be confusing.

To address the current situation, if you're looking to revert to the previous method of dragging and dropping from the source monitor, you might need to check the software's settings or preferences for any options related to the editing workflow. Sometimes, these features can be toggled on or off based on user preference.

Alternatively, consider looking for software updates or patches that might address this issue or consult the software's support resources for more specific guidance. If you’re also looking for more flexibility and options, exploring other tools that offer enhanced drag-and-drop functionalities might be beneficial.

In the realm of streamlining media workflows, just as some tools enable seamless transitions between different types of content, tools for converting videos YouTube to MP3 can help manage your media files more effectively.
