Meine Daten:
Windows 10
Intel Core i9 9960X
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
Studio Treiber Version: 472.39
Premiere Version 22.0

I'm pretty sure that the mediacache is where the files that premiere automatically creates for previews live...
you don't say how much RAM you have installed? and what are your source properties and sequence settings?
Although the system requirements say 8 gigs is sufficient
https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html
16 gigs is the minimum for HD and 32 gigs for 4K
If you don't have sufficient RAM for your source formats you can try working with a proxy workflow

mxf files can be problematic... shouldn't be, but you might try transcoding to an all iframe format like prores...
