Error importing After Effects Composition into Premiere 2025

When importing an After Effects composition into Premiere, the "connecting to dynamic link server" window stays for a much longer time than usual, then after selecting the comp to import the "import file" window stays forever with no progress. I just tried waiting for two hours to import a simple comp, and nothing.

Are you working on external drives or over cloud?

Try to move everything to local drives, then point

your Media Cache and Scratch Disks to local drives as well.

Consider cleaning your Media Cache in Premiere Pro and

Purge all Memory and disk Cache in After Effects.

When on Dynamic Link workflows, I prefer to finish and

deliver on a current working version of both PP and AE

before updating, so if rolling back is applicable, you can 

always have both current and previous versions installed.
