Export from PP timeline 6X faster than with Media Encoder (batch-export)

I have 73 individual sequences to export. Each contains one 3 minute Super 8 reel which I have transferred.

If I export a given 3 minute sequence from the PP project, it takes about 9 minutes.

The same sequence takes over an hour in batch export/Media Encoder.

I don't need to work in PP whilst exporting - I just don't want to have to manually export each reel.

As it stands batch-exporting in Media Encoder is utterly useless to me.

Is it just that much slower by design or is something going on?

Up date -  I ran Bleachbit, restarted the computer, and the 3 min. sequences now batch-export from ME in about 9 minutes.

No idea why this worked. probably should get the computer checked out.
