Exported SCC file transform properties not matching original in Premiere

New Here ,

I'm using, Premiere Pro v25.1.0 on an iMac, macOS Sonoma v14.7.1

I created 608-1 Closed Captions for a project, but when I export a SCC file, the transform properties are messed up and aren't at all what they were originally. Not all of the captions are in different spots but a good portion of them are. Screenshots below.

Here is what they look like when I make them in Premiere:

And here is what the exported SCC looks like, re-imported into Premiere:

I've checked all my frame rate settings and they match (29.97 Drop Frame), and I have no idea what could be causing this in the export. Can someone help? Why isn't the export keeping the original transform properties?

Second image shows alignment to the bottom left side instead of center.

Hi ErinC789,

I'm sorry to hear about this. Is this happening specifically with 608-type captions or others as well? While exporting, have you tried to use the option Burn Captions Into Video to see if it's shifted or if it's rendering properly?

Thanks,

Sumeet

Yes, when I export in Burn Captions Into Video, it is correct. I haven't tried other formats as the company I'm doing this project for can only use 608 type CC.

Thanks for the details! I am not able to reproduce this issue at my end. If possible, could you please share a sample project containing a small section of the caption with which you are able to reproduce the issue? We don't need any media, just a test sequence with a sample caption.

Thank you. I got a sample sequence for you attached. C1 is the original made in Premiere captions, and C2 is the exported SCC re-imported into Premiere.

Yes, that's intentional. I have the CC shifted to the right because a logo sits on the lower left. So, they don't cover it up.

So, after some troubleshooting, it seems like it's linked to the X axis position. If it's 72 or over it messes up in the export but if it's 71 or less, it exports just fine...I still don't have a solution, but this seems to be part of what's causing the issue??

I noticed that too, but why is it doing that in the export?? That's where I'm stumped, because that's obviously not what it is in the original.
