Hello,

I am new to Premiere and I'm trying to figure out how to export a sequence with 4 mono channels of audio, where 1 and 3, 2 and 4, get mixed down to two channels upon export (1 and 2). Does this need to be done in the timeline audio settings or in the export settings? I can't seem to find an export setting that allows for that.

Thanks!

You'd either need to setup a new sequence with the audio channel mapping that you desire as the final result (2 channels) and import your 4 mono audio tracks into there, or on export, select your preset, and adjust the audio export settings to do what you're trying to describe. The first method should be easier.

I appreciate the help! I should have added. I'm trying to fine an export file type that allows for bitrate control and can export in either 4 channels of discrete audio, OR, where four channels are mixed down to two channels (1+3 and (2+4). I know MOVfiles can be exported with 4 channels of discrete but there is no bitrate control. H264/MP4 allows for bitrate control but the audio options are very limited. Thanks again!
