I use premiere pro very sparringly, usually just to make short clips. A couple weeks ago it suddenly started acting very strange and has been almost unusable since. I've tried rolling back updates, making sure I had enough space—but it doesn't seem to change.
The best way I can describe the issue is the entire internal UI not appearing/not functioning as it should. My PC is highly capable, everything is entirely up-to-date with some of the best specs as of January 2022. The effect controls, source clip and other various tools don't appear unless the video is playing, but the timeline is mostly uninteractable when paused. The program itself never buffers or freezes.

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.
