Extremely long pre-rendering times for short clips

Hi all,

I'm brand new to Premiere, and while I love the capabilities of this software, I cannot deal with the extraordinarily long render times for small, :30 second clips with no effects on it whatsoever. On average, for a basic mp4 video that's :30 seconds long with no effects on it, it takes me 1 hour to render.

My specs:  i7-4790K @ 4.00GHz

16 gb ram

nvidia gtx 970

I've tried every Quicktime preview setting, I've lowered my bitrate as low as possible. I'm frustrated and out of options. I could only imagine how long a video with effects that's 5 minutes+ would take me (probably days).

Any help woulid be appreciated.

It takes a long time because your machine is fossil. (its nearly 10 years old)

It's way under powered to run Premiere properly,

Adobe Premiere Pro System Requirements

The only way to solve this is to get a faster computer.

I ran the trial and rendered 3-minute long videos with effects in under a minute. Something changed in my settings when upgrading from trial to real version and I'm not sure what.

I also meet the recommended requirements under the very link you provided from Adobe, so not sure what you're talking about.

No, you don't with that system, unless you are willing to use proxies.
