Fade out plus slow motion bug

Hello,

I am applying a slow mo to a video clip. Then  I add a film dissolve at the end of it.
When running the clip I expect it to fade frop the beginning of the dissolve to the end of the dissolve.
GHowever, as soon as the dissolve start, the clip is completely transparent instead of fading.

How can I fix that?

I have tried to put back the clip to 100% speed at the end (when the dissolve happen) but that did not change anything.
I have also tried to render the area in case that was a rendering error, no success.

Here is a screenshoot.
You can see that I apply a slo in the middle of the clip.
At the end of the clip I go back to 100% speed and apply the dissolve.
As soon as I get to where the blue line is, my clip is completely gone.

Hi @Gaetan35452143czrl,

Darn. I thought for sure that nesting would work. I apologize that the community was unable to solve your issue. Please contact assisted support for continued assistance with this issue. I hope that is OK. One-on-one support can often help with problems like this.

Hi @Gaetan35452143czrl,

Thanks for the report. We need more information, as required here: How do I write a bug report?

As for troubleshooting the issue, can you try nesting the clip with the speed effect applied and then adding the dissolve?

Is that working? Let me know.

If so, I believe this is expected behavior, but I can check on that for you. Combining effects, at times, needs the two effects to be separated by nests because of something called the "render order pipeline." More info here.

I hope that helps.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hello @Kevin-Monahan ,

Thank you for your answer.

I did not find the edit button to modify my post and add the missing informations so here they are :
Version : 24.2.1 (build 2)
OS : Windows 10 enterprise
PC : System Model HP ZBook Fury 16 G9 Mobile Workstation PC
CPU : 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12850HX 2.10 GHz
GPU : Name NVIDIA RTX A1000 Laptop GPU
GPU driver version : Driver Version 31.0.15.5152
RAM : 32Gb
Memory : SAMSUNG MZVL2512HCJQ-00BH1
video format : MP4

Workflow detail + steps to reproduce :
Import mp4 file.
Create a sequence (spin) from it and cut to shorter lenght.
Use that spin sequence to create a new sequence (main sequence).
Add a slow to the spin seuqnce.
Add a film dissolve to the end of the spin sequence.
Now the slowest the end is, the longest the dissovle have to be (a full second for 76% slow or 1:25 for 63% slow) otherwise the dissolve period will be full transparentinstead of fading.

Expected result : It fades.

Actual result it is full transparent.

That being said, I have tried to right clic on my sequence with slow applied and dissolve removed, clic on nest, then add the dissovle. That did not solve the issue.

Hello @Kevin-Monahan ,

It did not seem to have a fix.
I wanted to apply a slow and fade out on a sequence (cutSequence) palce into another sequence (mainSequence) . The helper did not found a solution for that.

Instead he advised me to use the mp4 file that was in my cutSequence directly into the mainSequence.

Example is not from 24.4.1 (colored fx badges)

As far as I can remember, I have not seen any transition issues in 24.4.1. Updated yesterday to 24.5. so cannot test.

Need the project to see the settings made. Just a little screenshot does not help.
