Footage Converted from import to Preview Window

When I import my 720p footage it gets squished into 4:3 in the preview and sequence windows. How do I fix this?

Looks like your pixel aspect ratio is off somewhere. Take a look at this Adobe help document, it explains it well. But comment back if you don't understand anything and we can help.

Thank you, it is definitely the aspect ratio. Is there a way to change it to 1.0 from 0.5926?

try editing a shot into an empty sequence and you should create a new squence with settings that match your source.
