FrameIO seems to be broken

Hi Is anyone else finding the new v4 implementation of FrameIO in Premiere 25 unusable?

Exports direct to Frame more than often freeze or hang and fail so you have to export and upload externally but then you can't import the markers to the timeline anymore or link the sequence to the sequence in your timeline (Its says you can link manually but nothing happens).

Having finally got almost every client to use frameIO for logging their notes it now doesn't work and I have to work off printouts again! 

Too much work going into the AI novelties we never ever asked for (and also dont work) and the main editing software is getting worse and worse. 

If someone is able to explain the new way of importing notes please let me know - I asked FrameIO how to do it and they said that feature has been removed from v4 for now. Considering FrameIO is  review and comments software for edits and now you cant use it for that it's like premiere taking away the timeline window. 

We all seriously need to look elsewhere now major workflow features are being removed its just not enjoyable or beneficial to use anymore . . .

I've most recently been working in the Beta. But I was successful in exporting/uploading a small test clip. Win 11 PR 25.5.0.

I'm expecting changes with the next PR update. I assume this will be to 25.6.0 in the very near future. But I know nothing offically; just a guess.

@Patrick Southern, Can you give an update on Frame.io in the next update?

Frame.io changed the way notes work, they no longer are simply 'marked' on the clip, but supposedly reference the time and so the client can post back directly from commenting on their end.

I will say that after I saw the explanation of this, it looked like something that unless you knew how it was supposed to work, you might not figure it out on your own. And I can't remember enough of the several needed details to help, sadly.

I saw it today. Can't work out how to export the next version to the client. So thats a fail. Also my timeline is jumping around like crazy whenever i click off a clip. ALMOST unusable. Not sure if it's premiere doing it or frame.io. Agree with the comment about AI. We don't need. just make an editing program rock solid please.

Also, the export presets don't work. If I choose MATCH SOURCE - (high, medium or low) None of them actually match the frame size or rate!!!

It says 'must select a folder' and the export is grayed out. But where do i select a folder. There is no option!!

They are replacing the current Frame.io panel in the next build.

@mrWitham we have a fix on the way for the Export Preset mismatch. I'll DM you to get more details about the timeline jumping around to see if we can get that fixed.

I experience similar issues on the V4, previously I used to duplicate my sequences and then link to the same Frame.io as versions, but now I cannot export a new version unless I'm using the same exact sequence but I'll never do that because otherwise I can lose progress so when I duplicate the sequence I have to upload the video back to Frame.io and then organize it on the website and it doesn't make sense.

@hardt we designed the panel to write data to your sequence when you export. Duplicating that sequence is designed to keep the link. If you're not seeing that behavior, we're running into a bug. Do you have a screen recording of the steps you're taking to export, upload, share, and duplicate your sequence in Premiere? When, in the process, do you duplicate your sequence?

Actually,  the issue left after some tweaking is that... it simply doesn't upload to Frame.io from Premiere (it converts the file, saves a copy in my desktop folder, but the "new version" is nowhere to be found on Frame.io online ?).

@Alexandre de Bellefeuille Is it adding the new file on top of the old file? We have "auto-versioning" enabled by default, which stacks the new version on top of the old version in a version stack. You'd see a "v2", "v3", etc. badge on the asset in Frame.io after it uploads.

Yes - it just won't stack up (nor will it upload as a new file).

At the moment, I have REdrop each file from the folder where the copy is
saved directly through the browser which defies the purpose, as you can
imagine.

Hi, having upgraded to 25.6.2 I oink the panel works - be patient if exporting a big sequence, it might wait a while doing background things before you see a progress response. Also in duplicated a sequence and the markers did automatically track that new sequence. I did get a jumping timeline thing that someone else had here where it kept flicking back to the highlighted comment but I clicked off it and haven't seen that since. Will keep an eye but if we all keep feeding back they do listen and check these issues out quickly.

So you want to see the markers in the timeline, but you don't want the playhead to jump to the marker when clicking the comment in the panel. Is that right?

No that's fine of course that's a great feature but it would keep jumping back there when you weren't clicking on it. So you'd try to edit and it would keep jumping back to the marker - like it was taking priority over anything else you did once you'd clicked away. The text panel does a similar thing sometimes too - jumping back to a word search you've left entered in there -  I find I have to deselect the text panel to stop that happening. But not all the time, it's inconsistent. The text frame often locks out too ..

@Reg Wrench that's super weird. So you'd be minding your business, and it would jump back to the marker? Would it happen when you were interacting with the Frame.io panel? Or could you be using any part of Premiere and it would jump?
