So this happened to me in a few projects so far. While Im editing my footage in premiere it suddenly starts lagging.. I can not playback footage or anything, premiere is responsive but can really edit anymore.  I have noticed this happens when Premiere starts to Generate Peak file. And from this point i can just close and reopen project and edit for another 10-15 minutes when it happens again.

Premiere is updated to 24.1 and im editing om mac m2 pro.

I'm on day 12 of troubleshooting and I think they have a serious flaw in M2 chips. They are not playing well with each other. I wish I could buy an M1 Mac Studio to test the difference.

I had just upgraded from the M2 pro Mac mini because I was told I needed a bigger machine. Got the M2 Ultra 64gb ram, 1TB storage and it's the same performance. Not a single bit better 😡😡😡
