Hardware acceleration not working on Premiere Pro 2020 when using AMD Radeon RX 580

Hey there, Premiere Pro does not use hardware acceleration with my AMD Radeon RX 580 GPU.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere Pro, installing older versions, uninstalling and reinstalling different versions of GPU drivers with no luck.

I'm still on software only rendering.

Acceleration works fine on other software like Davinci Resolve .

Please help.

Before any suggestions, let's check the "software only rendering" thing: when you create new proj with a simple 1080 clip on a timeline and apply Lumetri to it, the timeline became red and while play preview CPU load is about 100%, and GPU is not loaded at all. Can you verify?

Yes, this is correct. GPU not used at all.

I´ve been checking everywhere and my AMD GPU is not supported on Premiere, sadly (cause Davinci makes full use of acceleration, which is crazy, given how smaller they are compared to Adobe), so instead of optimizing your software, I need to replace my gpu for an Nvidia one.

Have you tried this OpenCL registry fix:

https://www.ownscene.com/blog/fixing-adobe-premiere-pro-wont-recognize-opencl-amd-gpus-using-registr...

  1. Hit Windows key and type regedit
  2. Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenCL\Vendors
  3. Double click on your amdocl64.dll and change the value from 0 to 1 and hit OK
  4. Restart just to be safe.

I uninstalled the chipset drivers and gpu drivers, restarted several times, did the OpenCL trick (created the keys because there was no Khronos key), but I can't get it to work.

This is the gpusniffer result:

Ok, one more attempt. Here is Khronos OpenCL.dll from my Windows\System32 folder:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/bexyjtz9sxlxliv/openclv2210.zip?dl=0

make sure that:

1) path in the registry points to this new dll, 2) you are running GPU Sniffer with admin rights
