Hardware Decoding introducing glitches into MP4 source-media projects

Since starting to use my new M1 Mac with PPro, I'm experiencing many glitches in how PPro parses H264 video.

These are addressed by disabling hardware decoding.

Anyone know if this hardware-decoding issue is unsolveable without Apple fixing it? If it can even be fixed?

This shows as MP4 artifacting and frames being jumbled around. The MP4 source material plays fine in media players, but glitches show just stepping thru the MP4 in PPro, no need to export a project. Just working with the MP4 itself.

Hi Gord,

We're sorry to hear about this. Please share a screenshot of the artifact that you are getting in Premiere Pro. Also, if possible, share a download link for the sample media with which you are experiencing this issue. It will help us to diagnose the issue properly at our end.

Thanks,

Sumeet
