High Memory Use/Memory Leak Causing Premeire to Freeze

Explorer ,
Dec 17, 2025 Dec 17, 2025

As I work on my film, Premiere is frequently consuming more than 26 GB of memory. This causes playback of the timeline to be incredibly slow, choppy, and delayed. And now, the program abruptly quit and my external hard drive disconnected. Can someone help me troubleshoot? I have already taken all of these steps.

Project details:

15-minute film with multiple sequences. Clips are mostly MP4 files. Not using any elaborate or unusual effects.

  2.  Mac OS Tahoe 26.2

Hi @Evan Barrientos -  Do you have any third party plugins or panels you are using?  What effects are you using?  Are you using captions?

Can you open Premiere and navigate to the help menu and select "Reveal Log Files..." then zip the SentryIO-db folder and email it to jamiec@adobe.com

No third party plugins or panels. Effects are warp stabilizer, enhance speech, very minor color correction on just a few clips, and cross dissolves. I just emailed you the log files.
