I work on a Mac, and all my video exports are to folders in my Mac. In past versions I used to File > Export > Media and browse for the folder where an existing video was, click on that video, and the name of my exported video then became that same name, so that I could overrite a version that I made changes to. Now I have to browse to the folder, but it won't let me click on the existing video, so I'm having to memorize how I named it in the past in order to then come back and type it in the "File Name" field. Needless to say, this is inconvenient. Is there a preference I'm missing to get that valuable feature back?
I'm on Premiere 2022 v22.4
Thanks.
Major flaw.
Workaround is to send your timeline to AME and use the oldfashioned export settings.

That's a pain, but still better than the flaw. I hadn't even noticed the "Send to Media Encoder" button. Thanks for the idea, Ann!

The best option is to use the Quick Export button. You can find this in the top right of the main Premiere window. Here you can select a preset, and thankfully, use the explorer to name your files in the traditional way.

Thanks for this! I replace files often and this tip was a godsend.
