How do I create new captions after I've edited my project?

I created captions for my long form video and that worked completely fine. But now I've edited 15 minutes down to 90 seconds and left the captions alone because I figured I could just make new captions once I've finished the tedious edit.

Every time I create new captions in my now 90 second timeline, it gives me the same captions from my 15 minute edit.

The only thing I can think that is causing the problem is my footage is Nested for multi-cam editing. So I've been editing the multi-cam NEST rather than the raw footage itself. And the only reason I did that is so I wouldn't have to RE-edit the multi-cam angles.

Is the transcription pulling from the NEST? It shouldn't be since the nest doesnt have any audio and my timeline has the raw interview audio (just edited down to 15 sec).

Multicam can be tricky. But I think all you need to do is to do a Static Transcription of your final sequence. Then do the captions from that.

Select the timeline view of your final sequence. The audio in that timeline must be the audio you want to be the captions.

Switch to the Text Panel/Transcript tab. In the 3 dots menu, pick Static Transcript.

Let us know if that works.
