How do I stop filetype showing when importing into a bin (ie .MXF)

I like the way to import footage to PP, but I'd like to not see .MXF after all my files (or .MP4) or whatever filetype it is, as I'm also outputting for clients the filename using the Filename overlay effect, so I have to manually remove the .MXF from the bin in the name to get it to show cleanly.

Is there any way (or future plan) to not bring the filetype across to the name in the bin ?

Sorry but there is no such feature at the present. Viewing file formats are important for a lot of users and there is not a lot of demand for having it to switch off. You could share your suggestions on the UserVoice though.
