Hi all. I'm looking to copy my Premiere Pro projects to an external drive so I can keep editing in my free time on holidays or if I'm just away from my PC, via my laptop or such. Then save over the old projects saved on my home PC when I come back. If I just copy the project files, media etc from the projects on my home PC to the external drive and relink the media on my laptop or other computer while I'm away, will that work? Will I need to relink the media across the different computers everytime I go away and return home? By the way, the same version of Premiere Pro is installed on my laptop and any other computers I may use.
Is that the easiest and best system currently in place or is there a simpler solution? Relinking the media everytime sounds like a pain, but if it's the only option around currently, it'll have to do.
I'm new to Premiere Pro, so any help you can provide would be amazing 😊
Thanks everyone!
You will need to relink the media each time you open projects if the media's location is different.
If you use an external hard drive all the time, you will not have any problem opening projects if you map the same drive letter for your external HD on each computer.

You could use the Project Manager to collect all the media and sequences for you for each project.
