How to create a pen click mask with no bezier?

Why is the last point of a pen-click mask always a bezier point? I'm pretty sure I did not move the mouse when I click.

I want a hand click mask consists of points and straight lines no bezier. But that doesn't seem possible.

If I hold down alt to convert that mandatory bezier point to an angular point, it merely makes the bezier control handles shorter so I cannot see them. When I try to drag the point, I end up dragging the control handles and reveal the bezier.

I manage to get the last click without a bezier: But then I have to mask very carefully.

To avoid beziers and the mask does not need too much nodes I start off with a rectangular mask and add nodes
