How to make CAPTIONS workflow easier in Prem Pro

Am I missing something here but has the recent captions update made the workflow slower?

1. I don't see a way to change the default so I always have to make two clicks to change it (down arrow and select my preset).

2. The preferences are now hidden by default so I always have to drop that arrow down as well to select my saved preferences.

3. The saved preferences still don't save all the essential graphics settings - like CAPITALISATION.

Is anyone else finding this an issue?

Harry, yes, I think you understand this correctly regarding the options when creating captions from a transcript.

I found that once you open the preferences drop-down once, it will stay open for further caption creation as long as PR is open. The preset selected remains for further caption creation as long as the preset exists in the project that is open.

Having a default preset that can be selected is an important feature request.

Also, there appears to be NO setting that keeps the number of characters per line, etc. when creating captions.

Yes, there are MANY settings in the EGP that are not saved in the presets.

I think maybe it affects me more than others as I use Premiere for YouTube Shorts, so I'm repeating the same process many many times with different projects.

Yes, that would add to the frustration. But most people only create captions once, and would benefit from having control over the default behavior.
