How to save/export modified motion graphic templates?

This might be really simple and I'm being really stupid, but... is there a way to save your changes to a motion graphic template, so you can use the same - for instance - title sequence in another project, but with slightly different text etc? I've tried searching for this, it seems like it would be very straightforward, but I can't see a way to do it.

To explain more specifically - if I use a template from the library and modify it to suit my own purposes, is there a way to save that modified version for easy use again in another project? The option to export as a motion graphic template is greyed out.

I feel it ought to be easy to do this, but I just can't see a way.

I had already tried this, the problem is that the 'Export as a Motion Graphics Template' is greyed out in the drop down menu.
