i can't figeur out the decoder, please help.

I've been useing AE wrong, well, more so the files that the app.

and now i cant seem to figeurs out tje decodder, im trying to get my MP4 clips to a AE friendly fotmat.

how can i do that via the decoder?

maybe a even crazier qestion, how do u put it englis (the decoder is in dutch)?

Ae supports mp4. What is the origin of these clips?

Decoder as in Media Encoder? Set to English > Preferences > Appearances > Language.

The clip orignaly  MP4, i downloaded it from Youtube.

via an Youtube to MP4 website.

Youtube uses a codec which Premiere does not support 

Need to convert file with either Handbrake or Shutter Encoder to a file format Premiere likes.

I only use AE, what would i need to put? (also i am not sure if its still crashing or not) a reddit user just told me not to use MP4 and 3 on Ae and that it isnt and edit program, even thought to i see some ppople use it as one. so i came here to figuer it out.

If you just want to edit (no fancy stuff) video clips it is better (imo to use Premiere Pro.

I use AE for the fancy stuff, as i figeurs that even msot basick things looks better  especaly compaerd to capcut. anyway, ill see if it still crasing. A qeusteion, can adobe crash beacause of my laptop needing an update?

AE still crashed.

it was bearly open for a minut, I just improted my ptoject i had started.

Would it be that. should i just make a complete new project? 

Maybe the app is tiheavey for my laptop.
