I wanted to open a project i was working on the day before. A pop upo appeared saying something about an effect not displaying correctly, i can get roid of it to open the project, and could add the effect later again. I clicked ok.
Now the effect is gone, i have no idea how to get it back and als installing the effect pack again did not help.
What is this? I have never seen this pop up before. How can I egt my effect back? Where would the file location be, so I can look for it manually??
Thank you so much 🙂
Hi @marketingVICTORIA - Where is this effect from? Is this from a plugin? Can you try navigating to the effects panel and select the hamburger menu and then select "Manage Video Effects". Do you see your effect in the list?
Can you try and hold down "SHIFT" while launching Premiere and check the boxes
"Reset app preferences" (Backup Preferences first)
"Reset plugin loading cache"

Please see, How do I write a bug report?
What effect are you using? Where did you get it?
Can you share a screenshot of the pop up?
Sorry for the frustration.

Hi. thank you answering.
It is an effect that was part of a pack (universe). The effect is called "uni.Shutter Legacy"
All the other uni.... effects from the pack are still there. Also, the effect still works when I open the project in the public beta. But not in my normal PP.
I cannot screenshot the pop up as I can not make it appear again. It appeared only once and me fool pressed OK. Now I only get another Pop up after the project opened allready, saying that the effect is missing.
It really sucks especially because I have used the effect in a lot of projects for title animations. Now, none of these projects work anymore...only if I open them in the public beta. So that leads me to think, that the locations that store the effects for Premiere after installing, are not the same for the normal and beta version. So there might be a chance to copy installed effects from some location for the beta (where it still works) to the main app. I am using windows 11.

Hey Jamie,
I forgot to reply. THANK YOU SO MUCH!. This was it. I just never came across the "Manage Video Effects" Menu. One Click. All fixed.
Thanks!
