There seems to be a bug in Premiere 2024 (latest update) where when I import a .scc file originally created in Telestream Caption Maker, and have music symbols around lyrics of a concert, a lot of the closing music note symbols around lyrics are not there, causing me to have to replace them. They are in the original caption and .scc files before importing into Premiere. Very time consuming and irratating to have to replace these! This has happened on two separate concerts I have captioned in Premiere.
Thanks-
Hello @SCOTT_L,
I'm Kevin from support, one of the mods here. Thanks for filing the bug report.
I apologize for the lack of a response, so far. You may want to file the bug report with the following details: see, How do I write a bug report?
If possible, attach the .scc file to the bug report so that the product team has access to the file.
You may also want to file a case with Telestream support. They also work with our team on integration problems like this. Let the devs know what they s

Scott,
Can you paste a few samples of the problems lines? Generally, text pasted here keeps its unicode character.
In my test sample just now in PR 24.1.0, I was able to import SCC with music symbols with and without text in between.

How about I give you the whole .scc file?

Can I upload it directly and privately to you?

I get the same things you do. These are the regular eighth-note characters that are common in .scc, not the "other" ones that can create problems.
Music notes at the beginning are all imported correctly.
Music notes at the end of a second line, all appear to import correctly.
A music note at the end of a single line never imports.
I tried to trick it by adding an underline character after the music note at the end of a single line - the underline character is there, but the music note is not.
Seems like a bug to me. Upvoted.
Still wondering if there is a workaround.
I might try adding some other character and then do a search and replace?

Attention ADOBE!
Has there been any progress in correcting the bug on Captions import and the captions being truncated? (particularly .scc files)
This has been documented and verified by other users. PLEASE FIX ASAP!

Doesn't appear they have done anything about this!!! Am I missing something? It's been 8 or 9 months since I reported it.
Soooo frustrating!

I apologize for the product team's lack of response thus far. Once they have access to all the information, I will try to get their focus on this issue. I hope they can help you shortly.
Thanks,
Kevin

I see that neither Scott nor I provided some of the basic info. But it was in an early version of 24 in Dec 2023. I have retested in 24.5.0 and 23.6.7. This appears to me to be a very specific and easy replicated BUG.
In an scc file imported to PR as 608 captions, a music note (classic eighth note - i.e. entered as Alt 1 3) at THE END of the first line, is not imported. It is imported at the beginning of a line and at the end of a second line. A character after the music note at the end of the first line is imported, but not the music note.
If you add such notes in PR and export .SCC, the notes are properly exported.
The original .scc file was Scott's from Telestream, but my test now is from captions created in PR, exported, and reimported.
Using Subtitles, exporting and importing SRT, does NOT show this problem.
Win 10, 24.5.0 and 23.6.7.

Kevin, I believe I filed a bug report back in Dec 2023. I have updated Premiere several times but nothing has improved. This is a very frustrating bug as most of the shows I deal with are 90-120 minute concerts with as many as 1000 lines of captions. You can imagine how long it takes to correct these! It does appear that it is happening on single line captions... let me know what you guys need from me to help squash this bug! If you could confirm Adobe received my fisrt report, that would be awesome. If not received, I will go back thru the process. Don't see a file uplink option here, only for video or photo but happy to provide a .scc file!

Can you see that this gets attention? To clarify, the bug can be demonstrated by exporting .scc from PR and reimporting. It does not require a Telestream .scc.

Well, It's been almost a year now that this was reported and verified as a bug and there has still been NO FIX from Adobe. Is this how bug requests normally go? VERY frustrating!
