Import SRT file generated in Pr leads to an error

Hello, 

So I've generated a transcript in Premiere Pro. I've made some changes and saved it as a .srt file. Later on, I need the transcript for another project. In the new project, I selected Import captions from a file in the Caption pane. 

The error says, "The importer reported a generic error". It happens at any time in any new or old project. I just cannot import captions, even though they are generated .srt from Premiere Pro.

This is usually an error such as an empty caption or formatting error. If inspection in a text editor does not reveal anything, I would open the srt in Subtitle Edit and check for errors.
