Import workflow and file organization

Does anyone have a file organization workflow they recommend? I put files into folders: Audio, Video etc then import those to Prem Pro. Is there an app to help automate this? I come from the world of audio where all the applications I have used automatically copy, if you so wish, the media added to a project into a media folder for you. I find this whole lack of auto-organization baffling. Why can Premiere Pro not sort the file types into folders at the very least?!! We could then create sub folders and organize footage thereafter but come on, this is ridiculous. In the meantime, I would appreciate any workflow tips!! Thanks

Premiere's public beta is finally getting the option to import folder structures, they say. Which is SO overdue!

And Ann's comment about the knightsoftheeditingtable's plugin are spot-on. That's a great tool for organizing projects!

Thanks for writing in. As Neil mentioned, the ability to import folders with the internal folder structure intact is going to help. I also like the new project templates feature that is available when creating a new project. They are in a drop down menu in the upper right of Import mode. That might also speed along your organization. Let us know if these hints help you.
