When exporting a timeline from Resolve 19 to Adobe premeire 2022 only the first video is relinkable properly.

  • The first video for multiple timelines consistently presented this issue.
  • If a different video was swapped for the first video, that new first video would be the only properly relinkable video.

I’ve taken a screen shot below, video 725, (the second video) is linking the first video(742)

  • If I try to replace the second video(right click, replace from bin) to the properly mapped imported second video, the second video plays though the start frame is reset.Capture2.JPG
  • For context this timeline was originally exported from FCP to Resolve, destined for Adobe Premiere. The timeline in Resolve functions without any known issues. Though i did notice an icon on the Davinci timeline which may have instigated this issue

Update:

They are indeed compound clips because i have speed up the original.

- In DaVinci, if i right click>remove attributes then right click>decompose in place, these two actions result in a successful transfer into Adobe although the video no longer contains the edits of accelerated clips.

Thus the narrative continues, I can conclude for compound clips only the first clip successfully imports. Still looking for input to a solution.

I recommend using the EDL format for transferring clips with speed changes. It tends to handle these types of edits more reliably than XML.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I have taken your feedback and tried to export as EML which brought up another challenge. I do believe this error may be unique to this timeline and I will test it this method on other timelines soon to confirm.

The error I encountered was “EDL import error at event 21. Event skipped”

For continuity I was also recommended another method on a different forum. Duplicate all clips>Right click remove attributes for copied clips> paste attributes(alt + v) from each compound clip to each duplicate to reintroduce the speed change. This process removed the compound clip icon, thus enabling the import to adobe. Though very cumbersome this worked.

Subsequently I found another concise method. Go to media Bin and delete all compound clips. Import all relevant files into media bin. Right click time line in media bin,>timelines>reconfirm from bins. This will relink to native files without compound clip feature.
