insert text-based editing not working

Explorer ,
May 19, 2023 May 19, 2023

In adobe's demo video, you can select a text in the transcript and then click on 'insert', which would then insert that particular part of the video onto my sequence, right? It does not work here. NOthing happens when I click on insert. Any ideas?

The tracks must be source patched, not just targeted. For some sequences, it will default correctly, but if it gets changed, you need to select it.

See "C" in the first image:

It is not special to the Text-based editing. You can see this by just opening a clip in the Source Monitor, mark an in and out, and click insert. If the source patching is missing, nothing happens.

You can see in the video, that the tracks are source patched.
