Is it possible to reprogram mouse buttons for Premiere Pro on a Mac?

I've been doing some research from google on this and it looks like macs don't give you an option to reprogram mouse keys like windows does. I'd be willing to spend the extra money to make it possible to reprogram mouse keys on a mac but I haven't found anything on it. I'm trying to make "mouse button 4" link to the keyboard letter C. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Check with the mouse manufacturer to see if they offer a utility, or look for a third party app like Steermouse.

(I have no idea how well Steermouse works, I just found it with google.)
