It's really difficult to tell what's selected on the timeline (Premiere 24 vs. 23)

The issue is simple: due to the UI changes re: selections in Premiere CC 24, it's almost impossible to tell what's selected on the timeline.

In the provided diagram and screenshots, you can see how in Premiere v23, there's a clear distinction between the unselected and selected state of a video or audio element, e.g. the waveform turns white.

However, in Premiere v24, it's less clear if something is selected, no matter what label color you're using: the selection border around elements has been made thinner, and waveforms remain unchanged.

Long story short, it's created a ton of friction with my timelines, which are incredibly complex and multi-layered, and it takes me more time than ever to select and move things around because I have to look a lot closer, it and feels like I'm having to use tweezers.

Was this changed permanently, or is this a bug of some sort that's being patched? I'm basically thinking of reverting to v23 and skipping any new versions until it's addressed because it's really slowing me down.
