Kona 4 Hardware not showing up in Playback

I am having an issue not recognizing the Kona 4 for playback. Does recognize Kona 4 for audio.

Adobe Premier Pro 25.1.0 (build 73)

Kona 4 firmware: 17.1.3.333

Mac Pro Rack 2019, OS 10.15.2, Intel

No errors on Adobe System Compatibility Report

I can confirm that no other software is utilizing the SDI output at the same time. I confirmed that AJA Control Room works as expected, no issues.

This seems to be isolated to Premier Pro. I tried looking at older posts solutions and were for versions multiple years old.

Not sure when this broke. This machine isn't used for this but we discovered it in an emergency that we could not playback in Adobe.

I tried unstalling Adobe and AJA. Reinstall the AJA software, with updated firmware. Then re-install adobe PP and Media Encoder, and still no luck. Adobe Premier Pro did do a GPU update once I relaunched, but no luck.

Thanks in advance, Matt

Yes, it looked like installing the software again after PP, seemed to do it. I couldn't find anything in the software install doc about it also installing plugins for PP.

Hi @Matthew704 - Can you let us know your specific setup.  Are you connecting to your monitor via HDMI or SDI?

Also the minimum OS needed for Premiere is MacOS Monterrey version 12.  I'm surprised you are able to launch 25.1 on os 10.15.2

Can you confirm these versions?

Thanks Jamie

We are using SDI output on the Kona card.

And runnig on Apple Sequora 15.2, I may have mixed up the nomenclature. Confirmed Adobe v25

What we did previously,

uinstall adobe PP, update AJA Kona 4 firmware, re-install PP, it didn't pick it up.

We just tried this

We re-installed AJA Kona 4 firmware again, with Adobe PP installed, and then re-launched Adobe PP, and it detected it again. We are able to use the SDI output.

If the AJA plugins have been successfully installed (as in the screenshot below), yes. 🙂
