Lag when switching back to the Premiere Pro application from another program

When I switch back from a different program (can be any program) to Premiere and wanting to start play on the timeline, it always needs a little while (like 30 seconds, sometimes more) to "start up" again. After that, it's smooth sailing and editing is very snappy. I've asked around and my friends who also use Premiere don't seem to have this issue. Any idea what causes this?

I'm on the latest Premiere Pro 2022 22.5.0, Windows 10 Pro 21H2, 32gbRAM, RTX 2080Ti, AMD Ryzen 9 3900x.

This also happens when I open a (new) project inside Premiere btw.
